Ajax is a short drive west of our Oshawa warehouse, so a dunk tank rental in Ajax is easy for us to fit in. From Pickering Village to the lakeshore and the newer streets in the north end, our crew brings the tank, sets it up and comes back for it afterwards.

The tank holds 500 gallons, has a clear front window, and comes with softballs and a quick safety briefing.

What you need to know

• Backyard or fenced setups need a gate or opening at least 6 feet wide.

• Anyone sitting on the seat must be 18 or older and no more than 250 lbs.

• You’ll need a garden hose and an outdoor tap. Filling takes about 40 minutes at normal water pressure.

• Once filled, the tank is very heavy (well over 800 lbs) and can’t be lifted or moved, so pick its final spot before filling.

Many Ajax homes have compact backyards or gates narrower than six feet. With the Big Splash Reverse Dunk, the volunteer stays seated and a bucket of water drops on them when someone hits the target. It needs much less space than the full tank.

Planning a dunk tank in Ajax

• Driveways and flat lawns work best. Avoid low spots that stay soft after rain.

• If you’re looking at a waterfront park such as Rotary Park, check with the Town of Ajax about permits and make sure there’s a tap within hose reach.

• Filling takes about 40 minutes. Start before guests arrive so the water can warm up.

• June is our busiest month. Two to three weeks’ notice gives you the best choice of dates.
